Founded in 2002 at the Lausanne Conservatory under the leadership of Pierre Amoyal, the Camerata de Lausanne has renewed the tradition of ensembles performing without conductor. In addition to its concertmaster Pierre Amoyal, the Camerata is a string ensemble that varies its size and formation depending on the repertoire being performed. Coming from all over the world, the talented young musicians that make up the ensemble represent a homogeneous and dynamic group from the same instrumental tradition. They are thus able to combine musical training at the highest level with their professional life.
Their visit is part of an evolving collaboration between the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and the Lausanne Conservatory in Switzerland and is generously supported by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Canton Vaud,Switzerland and swissnex Singapore, a platform of the Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore, in collaboration with the Singapore Sun Festival.
